On the route to the hotel you will visit Pisac, a classic Inka ruins, perched on a hill top, the western site is a gorge with its vertical wall that houses Inka burial sites on its sheer face, with lots of Andean flora, on the eastern site a very fertile valley, along with well-preserved Inka farming terraces with their hanging stairs and way up on the crest of the mountain, Inka “condos” surrounded by awesome views. After we visit the archeological site of Pisac will drive down to Urubamba.

Drive up to Chinchero to the land of the rainbow, to 12000ft. above sea level, for interaction with weavers, we will explore the colorful and striking aspects of weaving in Chinchero and learn about textiles in the Andes where you can put hands on the back-strap loom or on any stage of the weaving process.

MORAY is one of the best examples—along with Machu Picchu—of what might be called extreme Inca landscaping.

The City of Cusco provides a unique testimony to the urban and architectural achievements of the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th centuries, Cusco was the home and residence of gods, the spiritual and political capital of the Inka Empire, is a city built in the shape of a puma that can be seen only from the air.

You will walk through Inka streets that are lit up by the sun every winter solstice, through the most important Inka temples such as the Koricancha (the Golden Enclosure) which displays a sophisticated stone construction technology, will explore colonial monuments such as Cusco Cathedral, still in use today, which is an art gallery containing 17th-century canvasses of the Cusco School of painting, highlighted by the last Supper with a guinea pig.

We star our day going up to Tipon a ceremonial place dedicated to the water, masterpiece of water management. Because the waterworks were constructed as part of a country estate for Inca nobility, Tipon has beautiful stone structures akin to those at Machu Picchu, built in the imperial Inca style and serviced by finely cut stone fountains.

The intricate baths and irrigation channels still function five centuries after the Spanish conquest, which provides Tipon with an endless, soothing soundtrack of running water.

PM, we explore Sacsayhuaman walking, an Inka fortress 400feet/120mt. above the city of Cusco. The site was built with massive boulders, some of which weigh more than 100 tons. The Spaniards did not believe that such monolithic stones could be moved by human beings and they attributed Sacsayhuaman’s construction to the mythical Cyclops. Thus, this type of architecture is known as the “Cyclopean Inka style”.
